Ajay's Inspiration
Ajay shared with us what inspired him to become a freelancer:
"Being a freelancer was an opportunity to work as widely across the creative industry as possible. It allowed me to learn and develop my skills at a faster pace due to the variety of brands, challenges, environments, and people I could work with."
This desire to explore and grow has been a significant factor in Ajay's success, allowing him to work on some truly outstanding projects.
Proudest Achievement
Ajay talks about his proudest work:
"One of my biggest projects was my work at Park Avenue Productions on the British Airways account, which led me to be the creative producer for the Millennium Eve launch of the British Airways London Eye and subsequent NYE celebrations.
“Delivering a project with such a big public profile was and is very fulfilling, exciting, and memorable."
Ajay’s Advice for Aspiring Freelancers
Ajay shares what advice he would give to others who want to become a freelancer:
“First and foremost is that you must enjoy the work, you must enjoy the juggle of multiple clients, agencies, projects, the demands of meeting and greeting as many people as you can so that you develop a wide client base, with as many types of people and companies you want to work for.
“You have a unique opportunity to chase your dream project and work towards it, project by project or in some cases you land the dream job just by asking.
“The other thing is to be super organised, not only with your administration but with your finances. Being organised means that you make more time and be more flexible to take on work at short notice, juggle the multiple projects you have or be available at a drop of a hat when your client needs you.
“Think of yourself as a business in your own right, create job numbers for every project, organise your receipts that work through to your account’s software, save files and folders in a safe space and certainly safe from external access.”
Ajay exemplifies the creativity, dedication, and skill that we at Mode Insurance are proud to support. His journey as a freelancer showcases the incredible opportunities that come with embracing a freelance career in the creative industry.
