Last night’s BAFTA Awards recognised a host of talent from the UK film industry, including short filmmakers, sound designers, editors, make-up artists, production designers and more.

While the high-profile awards usually get the headlines, the technical and short film categories represent the true craftsmanship and creativity of the UK film industry - a testament to the skill, dedication and innovation that make filmmaking possible.

At the 2025 BAFTAs, these categories showcased some of the industry’s most exceptional talent. From the intricate costume design of Wicked to the immersive soundscapes of Dune: Part Two, this year’s nominees in these categories demonstrated the artistry and technical expertise that elevate storytelling to new heights.

Below are all the nominees and winners from the technical and short film categories at this year’s BAFTA Awards.
